PESHAWAR: An amount of Rs30 million has been released for calamity-affected area of Upper Chitral, said the director general of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Thursday.
He said the relief fund was provided under the directive of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The amount has been released for relief and rehabilitation activities in the area. He said the chief minister had pledged that every possible assistance will be provided to the affected people of Upper Chitral and other areas.
A day earlier, the PDMA said that Rs39 million had been released and disbursed amongst the heirs of 37 individuals who lost their lives in different incidents during the inclement weather in Swat, Bajaur, Charsadda, Dir Lower, Dir Upper, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Mardan, Mohmand, Bannu, Khyber, Swabi and Lakki Marwat.
