CHITRAL: The government has been urged to take action against Chitrali agents involved in sending labourers to Saudi Arabia without arranging work for them.
Addressing a press conference, Haider Nawaz, Zakirullah, representatives of an overseas Chitralis\’ organization, alleged that Amanullah (Hon Chitral), Rahim Jan and Sher Muhammad (Ayun), Abdul Qadir (Zang Lasht), Muhammad Islam (Kosht), Akbar (Barenis) and Nasir Zaman (Drosh) were members of a gang of human smugglers who were sending jobless youth to Saudi Arabia without proper documents.
After landing in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, these labourers neither get jobs nor can return to Pakistan. They said after taking loans, hundreds of Chitrali jobless youth looking for greener pastures fell prey to these agents. Upon landing in Saudi Arabia, the labourers realized that they had been sent there on visit visa and were to be sent back after two months. Those unable to return were still living there in miserable condition.
They said that they had filed an application with the deputy commissioner of Lower Chitral to take action against the agents. They also urged the ministry of overseas Pakistanis to help the Chitrali labourers return to the country. They demanded that the FIA should take legal action against the agents.–Bashir Hussain Azad
