CHITRAL: A staff member of the forest department fell from a mountain and landed in a stream and passed away in line of duty on Thursday.
Earlier, he was shifted to hospital with broken limbs from Chimarkhon Gol, Rescue 1122 said on Thursday.
It said Forester Jamshed Iqbal, son of Muhammad Iqbal, from Chumarkhon Gol, along with two colleagues had gone to the mountain after receiving reports about a fire in the forest. He fell into Chumarkhon Gol after slipping from a track while returning home.
Rescue 1122 reached the spot, provided first aid to the injured and shifted him to the DHQ hospital where he was admitted.
However, he passed away after a few hours, Rescue 1122 confirmed to ChitralToday.
