Dr Mir Baiz Khan, a Canada-based researcher, was chief guest on the occasion. The seminar was organized by the Thinker Forum Chitral and supported by the government of Canada and an NGO. Professor Shamsunazar Fatmi highlighted aim and objectives of the forum which works for the improvement of quality education in Chitral. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mir Baiz Khan said Chitral is a remote and backward area where there are no industries nor agriculture on a massive level but we can promote the area only by quality education. He asked university students to come forward and take keen interest in research and discovery work. He said media can play a vital role in creating awareness and knowledge based information among the students. Besides, the youth should make their parliamentarians bound to focus on betterment in education because this is only way of our development. He said that the role of teachers was very valuable in motivating of students towards education and in their career. He said that the present era is of competition and only getting of degree is not sufficient until we fulfill requirements for key posts and higher education abroad. Quoting a maxim of a foreign professor that \”if people consider education as an expensive task what is the value of ignorance.\” He asked students to get access to the internet for positive and informative matters not for wasting your time. A question answer session was also held in which Dr. Mir Baiz Khan responded to different questions of students. Professor Mumtaz Hussain, Dr. Noorul Islam and others said they were disappointed with students regarding quality education. There is only quantity education.
