Lowari pass closed after heavy rain

CHITRAL, Nov 7: After heavy rain during the last two days the weather in Chitral turned cold forcing the people to remain indoors. Reports said that the Lowari pass has closed after the rain for all types of traffic. A truck also overturned on the Lowari pass making it impossible for the stranded vehicles to move towards their destinations. The Chitral police at the Ashiret post have stopped movement of passengers towards down country and there were also reports that a large number of people have stranded at the Dir side of the Lowari pass. On the other hand, the government has not made any arrangements to open the under-construction Lowari tunnel.]]>
