Wireless phones go dead in upper Chitral

MASTUJ, July 20: Wireless loop telephones of the PTCL have gone silent in upper parts of Chitral for the last two days. A number of residents from Brep, Khuz, Dizg and Istach came to Mastuj to call their relatives living in other parts of the country. They said they had to come to Mastuj at a distance of about over 30 kilometers as the wireless loop phones in their area were not working due to unknown reasons. It may be noted that the wireless phones have reached many villages up to Dizg villages in the Yarkhun valley but they often remain out of order due to technical faults. The residents called upon the authorities concerned to get the phones repaired.]]>
