LASPUR, Sept 23, 2025: Residents of Laspur raised a wide range of pressing issues during an open court (khuli katcheri) that the Upper Chitral district administration organized at Government Middle School Gasht.
Deputy Commissioner Haseeb Rehman Khan Khalil directed the event, and Additional Assistant Commissioner Mastuj, Afzal Ali, presided over the session. A large number of local residents, along with heads and representatives of various government departments and community leaders, participated in the gathering.
They demanded that the administration activate the civil dispensary in Gasht, upgrade Government Middle School Gasht to high school level, and repair the Gasht bridge without delay. They also called on the authorities to widen the Gasht–Harchin alternative road, provide clean drinking water in Gasht Bala, Gasht Payin, Shaidas and Onshot, and construct protective walls in Gasht Bala and Payin to shield communities from natural hazards.
The participants further urged the administration to restore damaged irrigation channels in Shaidas Bala, repair the Shaidas Bala link road, and establish a government primary school in Onshot. They pressed for the setting up of a veterinary dispensary in Gasht, immediate payment of compensation to landowners whose property the NHA acquired for road projects, construction of a sports ground in Gasht, and establishment of a vocational training centre for women.
In addition, they requested that the administration arrange awareness sessions on agricultural nurseries to improve local farming practices.
The Additional Assistant Commissioner assured the participants that the administration would seriously address their concerns and ordered the relevant departments to take concrete steps for resolution. He emphasized that officials must implement practical measures so the open court could deliver real benefits to the people.
Local elders and community representatives thanked the district administration for holding the open court and providing the public with a platform to present their problems at their doorstep.
