Crackdown On Underage And Unlicensed Drivers In Drosh

Drosh, Sept 23, 2025: The district administration, working closely with the police, has launched a stringent crackdown to enforce traffic laws and stop underage and unlicensed driving in Drosh.

Following directives from the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Chitral, Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Drosh, Khalilullah, along with SHO Drosh, Bulbul Hassan, and the traffic staff, carried out extensive roadside inspections that targeted underage drivers and motorcyclists.

These inspections form part of a broader, ongoing effort to ensure compliance with traffic regulations and to improve road safety across the region.

During the operation, authorities filed legal actions against individuals who rode without helmets, drove without valid licenses, and transporters who charged fares beyond officially approved rates. The administration stressed that such violations endanger both drivers and the public and directly undermine law and order.

AAC Drosh Khalilullah instructed all drivers and motorcyclists to strictly avoid overspeeding and reckless driving, emphasizing the importance of following traffic regulations at all times.

He also warned that the administration would show no leniency toward underage drivers of cars and motorcycles, underlining the district administration’s firm commitment to road discipline and public safety.

The public widely welcomed and appreciated the proactive efforts of the district administration and police, recognizing their actions as an important step toward enhancing road safety and maintaining discipline in the area.

Residents expressed hope that the authorities would continue such initiatives regularly to create a safer and more orderly traffic environment in Drosh.

It may be mentioned here that despite repeated campaigns launched by the district administration and police, underage and unlicensed drivers have caused numerous fatal accidents across Chitral.
