CHITRAL: An emergency response plan has been formulated in Lower Chitral to meet any situation arising from the current tense circumstances between Pakistan and India.

In this context, the District Emergency Coordination Committee (DECC) held a crucial meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohsin Iqbal, in line with directives from the provincial government.

The meeting brought together representatives from essential departments including Health, Rescue 1122, Police, Local Government, WAPDA, and others.

A comprehensive plan was laid out to ensure immediate and coordinated action in the face of any potential emergency, according to a statement issued by the DC office.

Deputy Commissioner Iqbal emphasized that the safety and security of the public is the top priority and directed all departments to remain fully prepared. He stressed the importance of quick response, coordination, and proactive planning during uncertain regional circumstances.

It was decided that each department will nominate a focal person to ensure seamless communication. An Emergency Control Room will be set up to monitor and respond in real time.

The committee also agreed to conduct regular drills to boost the capacity and preparedness of personnel. A public awareness campaign is also being considered to keep citizens informed about potential threats and safety protocols.

In conclusion, the deputy commissioner urged all relevant officials to take their responsibilities seriously and ensure the full implementation of the emergency preparedness plan.
