CHITRAL: The Lower Chitral police, during a checkpoint at the Chatral Bridge, seized nine liters of homemade liquor (Tara) from a car and arrested its driver.
According to the police, the checking was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Circle Bumburate Ahmed Isa and SHO of Ayun Police Station SI Ataur Rehman.
During the checking, ASI Mohammad Israr and his team stopped a suspicious vehicle (Mark X) and conducted a search, during which six bottles of liquor hidden under the back seat of the vehicle were recovered.
The driver of the vehicle, Ijazuddin, son of Fakhruddin, resident of Wari (Upper Dir), was arrested. According to the police, further investigation of the suspect is ongoing.
A spokesperson stated, “Our mission is to create a drug-free Chitral,” and such operations will continue to strengthen this commitment.
