PESHAWAR: Chitral Heritage and Environmental Protection Society (CHEPS) joined hands with the Chitral Students Association (CSA) to organize a campus-wide cleanliness drive at University of Peshawar.
The drive, a collaborative effort between students and professionals from various segments of society, commenced at the Department of Peace and Conflict. Participants then proceeded through all university departments before concluding at Madina Market.
The event showcased a strong commitment to community involvement in environmental stewardship.
Following the cleanup, Rehmat Ali Jaffar, the chairman CHEPS, emphasized the critical importance of cleanliness and highlighting the dangers of pollution, its detrimental effects on the environment, and the growing threat of climate change. His remarks underscored the urgency of addressing these challenges.
Dr. Shahida Aman, Chairperson of the Department of Political Science at the University of Peshawar, and Professor Khaleq Daad Laqani, former president of CSA Peshawar, also lent their support to the drive.
They shared valuable insights on the socio-political dimensions of environmental conservation and stressed the crucial role students play in achieving a sustainable future.
Ali Akbar Khan, President of CSA KP, expressed his gratitude to the CHEPS chief and all the participating students for their contributions to the successful awareness campaign.
