Dead body of porter brought back from K2

ISLAMABAD: The dead body of a high-altitude porter who died on K2 last year has been brought down by a team of volunteers on the clean-up operation of the peak, according to media reports on Monday. 

Pakistani porter Mohammad Hasan lost his life when he fell down at the bottleneck while climbing K2 along with an expedition team in July 2023. The mountaineers were accsued of stepping over the dying porter without providing him any help.

Mountaineer Naila Kiani said that the team formed by her was on K2 to clean it and while leaving on the mission the family of the deceased porter requested for bringing down the dead body. She said the team succeeded in retrieving the body and brought it down from the bottleneck to Camp 4. The team was now on way to Camp 3.

She said that army would be requested for a chopper to airlift the body from Camp 3.
