KABUL: Over 40 people are feared dead or missing in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan after torrential rains triggered devastating floods in the area.
Over 300 people were also injured in rain related incidents. Save the Children, an organization working for the rights of children, said that at least 1,500 children were also missing after the deluge.
According to the Afghan media, the floods have damaged houses, crops and killed hundreds of animals in different villages.
Immediate assessment of the damages caused to the public and private properties was yet to be carried out.
