Four Pakistanis killed, several injured in Oman
MUSCAT: Four Pakistanis were among six people killed in a terrorist attack on a Shia mosque on the suburbs of the Omani capital of Muscat.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman Imran Ali Chaudhry confirmed the death of the four Pakistanis in the attack on the Ali bin Abutalib Mosque in Wadi Al-Kabir last night. The Foreign Office in Islamabad also confirmed the death of the four Pakistanis.
The police in Muscat said so far there was no details about the motive and who carried out the attack. They said a total of six people died in the attack while security forces killed three terrorists.
Armed persons stormed the area and took several people hostage and opened fire. Over 30 people were also injured, including many Pakistanis, who were being treated in different hospitals. Later, the police and military personnel reached the area and evacuated the hostages.
