Modi criticized for meeting “bloody criminal” of Moscow

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow and his meeting with Vladimir Putin at a time when his country was being bombarded by the Russian forces.

Modi completed his two-day official visit to Moscow on the invitation of the Russian president today where he was received by Putin at his residence before formal talks. Modi visited Moscow less than a month after he was elected in the Indian election for the third term.

Over the visit, the angry Ukrainian president took to the social networking platform of X and stated, “In Ukraine today, 37 people were killed and three of whom were children and 137 were injured, including 13 children, as a result of Russia’s brutal missile strike. A Russian missile struck the largest hospital of Ukraine, targeting young cancer patients. Many were buried under the rubble.

“It’s a huge disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts to see the leader of the world’s largest democracy hug the world’s most bloody criminal in Moscow on such a day.”

According to media reports, western countries backing Ukraine over the war against Russia were also monitoring the visit to Moscow of the Indian prime minister who has been one of their close allies.
