Mother of three commits suicide

A married woman committed suicide by jumping from a mountain in a village of Mulkhow in Upper Chitral, locals told ChitralToday on Friday.

The woman was mother of three children. According to initial reports, the woman, a resident of Gaht village, might have ended her life due to some domestic issues.

Police reached the village and shifted the dead body to the headquarters hospital in Booni for a postmortem and launched an inquiry.

A study published by the Pakistan Journal of Criminology recently stated that more young women  were committing suicide than men in Chitral due to domestic violence, family pressure for marriage and other issues.
