PESHAWAR: The Chitral Nurses Forum (CNF) has rejected the posting of Nurse Officer Gulshan Bibi as instructor at Postgraduate College of Nursing, Hayatabad, instead of vice principal at Khyber College of Nursing.
The forum said Gulshan Bibi is a highly qualified nurse and deserved appointment as the vice principal at the nursing college. It alleged that the health department had consistently disregarded merit and fairness in its appointment and transfer decisions, favoring instead those with connections and influence.
Gulshan Bibi, a highly qualified and experienced nurse, was the first applicant for the post of BPS 18, Vice Principal at Khyber College of Nursing. However, her application was overlooked and she was instead transferred to a lower post. According to the forum, Gulshan Bibi’s file was “pressed” for almost five months, paving the way for her unjust posting.
“This is a clear case of injustice and we demand a fair and transparent inquiry to provide justice to the rightful person,” said Nazia Musa, Focal Person for the CNF.
“The health department’s consistent disregard for merit and fairness has demoralized the entire nursing community. We will not stand as a silent spectator while deserving candidates are overlooked in favor of those with connections.”
The CNF urged the chief minister and the health minister KP to order an inquiry into the matter.
Gulshan Bibi’s case is not an isolated one. On December 14, 2022, the post of Board Controller became vacant, and she processed her application but faced a similar situation.
The CNF alleged that the health department had a history of neglecting deserving candidates and favoring those with connections.
