CHITRAL: Government college students here held another protest against the recent increase in fees and demanding withdrawal of the same.
The students held a rally and gathered at the press club and said their fees had been jacked up by over 54 per cent at one go without any justification.
They said the public sector institutions were closing the door of education on students belonging to middle and lower muddle class who cannot afford admission in private colleges.
They said they were peacefully lodging their protest demanding withdrawal of the recent fee hikes.
They demanded that the Universe of Chitral should withdraw the recent fee hikes otherwise they would continue their protest.
Speaking on the occasion, former MNA and Jamat-e-Islami leader Molana Abdul Akbar said he would take up the issue with Governor Khyber Pakthunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi.
He said making education unaffordable for students was an injustice not only with the students but also with the people of Chitral.
