DROSH: An enrollment awareness walk was taken out from the oldest school of Drosh town which after passing through the local bazaar turned into a gathering at Drosh Chowk.
The Govt Primary School Drosh was established in 1938 and since then it has been spreading the light education in the garrison town and nearby areas.
The enrollment drive has been held by the education department and an NGO in Chitral town, Kalkatak, Kesu and Drosh. The objective of the campaign is to ensure all children aged five years and above are enrolled in schools and no child remained out of school.
Speakers on the occasion asked parents to send their children to school. The government schools are providing free textbooks and uniforms to the students free of cost.
However, the participants said that so far textbooks have not been provided to schools due to which academic activity could not be started regularly.
