Iranian president arrives on three-day visit

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s President Syyed Ebrahim Raisi has arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit to Pakistan on Monday.

This is the first visit to Pakistan of any Iranian president since 2017. The Iranian president is accompanied by his wife and a delegation including the foreign minister.

Upon his arrival, federal minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada welcomed the Iranian president at the Chaklala airbase in Rawalpindi.

The Iranian president will meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other authorities.

The two sides will discuss regional and global issues, including the Middle East tension, besides trade and mutual cooperation in different fields.
