Rockfall claims student’s life

CHITRAL: A first-year student lost his life after being hit by a falling rock in Ziture village of Garam Chashma on Thursday.

According to social media, Farzand Ali, son of Muhammad Ayub, belonged to Ovirik village.

Ali was going to his college in Garam Chashma when he came under the rockfall. Three other students accompanying him escaped narrowly.

After the heavy snowfall in the first week of this month, landsliding and rockfalls have become common across Chitral.
