Skill development classes to be held in govt buildings

Govt depts authorized to launch skill development classes

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker cabinet at a meeting on Tuesday authorized different departments to utilize their buildings at spare times for launching skill development classes for youth under the Khushal Pakhtunkhwa Program.

These departments are: Elementary and Secondary Education, Technical Education, Industries and Labour, health and other line departments.

The special meeting of the cabinet was held with caretaker Chief Minister Syed Arshad Hussain Shah in the chair.

The meeting was told that recently South Korea had sought over 100,000 skilled workers in response to which Pakistan could provide only 16,000 because the country had no skilled labour force to be employed in the outside world.

It was revealed at the meeting that more than 5,000 youth from all over the province will be imparted training in information technology, computer, para medics, nursing, trade etc. so that they could earn livelihood for their families both inside and outside the country.

Addressing the meeting the chief minister said a task force, comprising ministers, secretaries and heads of different organizations, had already been formed which was meeting on a daily basis to make the program a success.
