FC North’s literacy campaign continues in Khyber district

PESHAWAR: In line with the KP literacy campaign “Ilm Da Tolo Da Para,” Frontier Corps North conducted a transformative talent hunt drive at the Govt Middle Higher Secondary School in Paindi China.

This initiative aimed to enhance the literacy rate and educational standards in Tirah and Bazaar Zakha Khel.

In collaboration with NGO VAS Students Welfare Organisation, the sports gala-cum-talent hunt drive witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 400 students from ten different schools. The event featured a dynamic array of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including talent hunt exams, quiz tests, declamation contests, motivational lectures and various sports competitions like tug of war, sack race, spoon race, shot putt, ball in bucket and hanging apples.

To open doors to promising futures for Khyber district students, Frontier Corps North, in coordination with TEVTA, KPK Govt, and NLC, secured 10 vacancies for 6-month vocational training programs. These programs cover Land and Road Survey, Auto CAD courses at ATIN NLC Dina, and a Short Computer Course, including web designing, software, and freelancing in Peshawar.

Each student will receive free boarding & lodging and a monthly stipend of Rs. 5000 during the training period. Following the training, students will undergo a two-month-long field training and efforts will be made to secure job placements through TEVTA.

Eight students have already commenced their training at ATIN NLC Dina on November 22, 2023. The selection process involved rigorous quiz tests and interviews, resulting in the selection of ten students based on their outstanding performance.

Local communities, teachers, and students have applauded Frontier Corps North for their dedication to providing learning and employment opportunities, contributing to the “Ilm Da Tolo Da Para” campaign for the betterment of youth and the upliftment of the area.
