Chitral’s onion seeds becoming popular for its quality

CHITRAL: Best quality onion seeds of different colors and varieties from Chitral are not only being supplied to local consumers but also being sold across Pakistan and exported to a number of countries.
This was stated by officials of an organization in Chitral that produces onion seeds.
The company called Mangus Kahl Seeds, is registered with the Ministry of National Food Security and the Federal Seed Certification and Research (FSCR) Department, Islamabad.
Magnus Kahl was visited by Muhammad Azam Khan, Director General Federal Seed Certification and Research Department, along with his team from Islamabad and Peshawar.
The research team inspected different sections and processes of preparing and packing of onion seeds in the company.
According to Nazar Iqbal, director FSCR Islamabad, if such institutions are encouraged, we can save billions of rupees that we spend on import of such products.
Sajjad Ali, general manager of Magnus Kahl Seeds Chitral, said we never compromise on quality.
There are 500 farmers associated with this organization, including a large number of women, he added.
The company provides an opportunity to women to earn a livelihood with honor while sitting at home.
