Owner of Charsi Tikka arrested for harassing customers
PESHAWAR: The owner of a popular eatery located in Namak Mandi Peshawar has been arrested on the charge of harassing foreign customers and making obscene videos with them.
Nisar Khan, the owner of Nisar Charsi Tikka, was put behind bars after a case was registered against him at the Shah Qabool police station under section of 294 of Pakistan Penal Code.
Section 294 of the PPC makes engaging in obscene acts, or singing, reciting or uttering obscene songs, ballads or words, in or near any public place, to the annoyance of others, an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine, or with both.
According to the police, a large number of customers, including foreigners, visit Charsi Tikka to enjoy local traditional foods. The police in the FIR stated that action against the owner was initiated after some videos went viral on social media showing him acting in an objectionable way with customers outside the outlet.
The police said the owner of the outlet usually gets engaged in informal conversations with customers, including women, and make videos of them too. The police said Nisar Khan was also active on TikTok and used these videos on social media along with music.
According to the police, public complaints had been received that Nisar Khan usually makes objectionable videos with foreigners, including women, and upload them on social media without their consent.
