CHITRAL: A woman and her son fell into the Chitral river and were swept away on Friday evening.
The woman and her son belonged to the Kuju upper village. They were in their cropland along the river in the village when they slipped into the water.
Rescue 1122 Lower Chitral said its staff launched a search for the bodies but had to abandon it as night fell.
The emergency service said it launched the search operation in the river on Saturday morning, but was yet to recover the dead bodies.
Meanwhile, the dead body of the woman was on Saturday recovered by the emergency service from Shali area. Search is ongoing for the body of her son.
The body of the woman was shifted to the DHQ hospital Chitral.
