Culture show opens to promote tourism potential of Chitral

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Malik Maher Elahi inaugurated a culture show organized to promote micro business and tourism potential of Chitral.

In order to highlight the natural beauty of Chitral in the country and abroad, the event is intended to take advantage of the natural resources of Chitral to not only develop the scenic valley but also attract foreign tourists to improve the economy of the country. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) coordinator Sartaj Khan, Gems and Jewelers Chairman Minhaj Bacha and officials of Tourism Department attended the event.
The participants discussed issues facing Chitral’s tourism sector. It was demanded that the government should pay attention to the problems faced by passengers due to poor condition of roads in Chitral and work to connect the area with Central Asia.
Honorary shields were awarded to people who have worked for the promotion of Chitrali culture.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister’s assistant said the caretaker government will provide facilities for the promotion of trade and tourism on a priority basis. He said that he will also inform the caretaker chief minister and the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa about the issues of Chitral.

    Caretaker is doing good job, if development falls in their mandate.
