AMERICAN HUNTER WITH HIS KILL

CHITRAL:  Hornady Stephen Douglas, an American, hunted a Kashmir markhor at the Gahiret Community Managed Game Reserve in Lower Chitral.

The size of the left horn of the markhor was 37.5 inches while the right horn measured 38 inches. The age of the markhor was eight years, said the wildlife division.

The community participation in conservation has proven an effective strategy and yielding fruits in form of thriving wildlife resources and enhanced watch and ward, it added.

However, the wildlife division did not elaborate on the amount received under the trophy hunting permits and its utilization on community welfare.
