E-stamp launched in Lower Chitral

CHITRAL: The issuance of stamp papers was made paperless as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Revenue launched an e-stamp system at the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) here.

Under the system, any citizen can apply for a stamp paper of the required value from a mobile phone or computer sitting at their home or office and submit it to the NBP branch anywhere. 
On this occasion, Assistant Director Board of Revenue Abdul Wahab Khan Sahibzada, Muhammad Shuja, AD software e-stamp, attended a function in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Irfan was chief guest.
About the aims and objectives of issuing e-stamp, NBP Manager Amjad Ahmed Sani said that its main objective was to prevent fraudulent practices related to documents and processing. In the same way, the limitation of reduction in the collection of government revenue is to be determined.
In addition, information and documents related to revenue etc., would be stored in electronic i.e. digital form and a central database would be created to facilitate the verification process.
He said now anyone can apply for it sitting at home and people have to collect it through bank challan as they want to get stamp paper according to their need, while in the past, stamp vendor charged extra money from people.
Hasina Khanum said with launching of e-stamp, now women can also apply for stamp paper easily sitting at home and get it easily by avoiding the rush.
Assistant Director Board of Revenue Abdul Wahaab Khan said this was a good initiative by the chief minister. He said the purpose of e-stamp was to convert manual stamps into electronic one so that there was no chance for any kind of error or fraud. Its objectives also include that no stamp paper will be issued in the back date, as in the past, some mafias used to take out stamp paper in back date and use it for forgery and tempering , and often through fake documents, used to occupy the land of other people illegally.
Apart from this, disputes over land between people will be resolved it easily.
Provincial Chief Minister has started with the support of Punjab Information Board and Board of Revenue Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“We have launched it in ten other districts of the province and Chitral is the eleventh district where e-stamp was launched today.”
