CHITRAL: Prominent poet of Khowar language Amir Khan Mir passed away after a brief illness here on Monday. He was 86.
His funeral was held at his home village of Chumakhon upper on Tuesday and attended by a large number of people from different walks of life.
Mir was the former nazim of Chitral tehsil (elected in 2001) and remained affiliated with Jamaat-Islami party.
He was also president of Anjuman Taraqi-e-Khowar and contributed to the promotion of the Khowar language.–Gul Hamaad Farooqui
