YARKHUN: A bridge built over Grovur stream collapsed when a cement-loaded datsun crossed it on Wednesday, local people told ChitralToday.
The datsun was going to Meragram No 2 when the accident occurred; however nobody was injured seriously.
The wooden bridge over the stream located between Yukum and Phashk was constructed recently.
After collapse of the bridge, traffic from villages located on the left side of river Yarkhun from Pardan to Pashk was suspended.
PTI Upper Chitral information secretary Sher Afgan blamed the cement-loaded datsun for collapse of the bridge.
He said it was a temporary bridge built to restore traffic to the villages when they were cut off during the July-August rains and floods.–Syed Nazir Hussain Shah
