CHITRAL: A jeep driver died from electrocution near Ayun on Monday evening, it emerged on Tuesday.
Local people identified the deceased as Abdul Rahim, a resident of Saroozjal in the Bumburate valley.
They said Rahim along with his helper Abdul Basit, also from Saroozjal, was going to load sand/gravels into his jeep near Chitar bridge when the vehicle touched dangling and old electricity transmission wires from Dir.
Later, it transpired that Basit had also died and fell into the river whose body was recovered by Rescue 1122..
Relatives of the deceased persons demanded that the government should pay compensation for the death of the two persons due to the negligence of WAPDA.
