Correction made about Shandur in textbook

PESHAWAR: The Textbook Board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar has made a correction in a textbook by mentioning Shandur as part of Chitral.

In the Pakistan Studies book of the intermediate second- year class, Shandur had erraneously been shown as part of Gilgit-Baltistan. 

Shahid Ali Yaftali Advocate from Laspur Upper Chitral, which is located near the Shandur pass, had filed a writ petition in Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking correction in the book.

The court accepted the plea and directed the textbook board Peshawar to make the correction.

On the direction of the court, the board mentioned Shandur as part of Chitral and reprinted the book.–Bashir Hussain Azad
