Army martyrs paid tributes on Defence Dy

MORDER (UPPER CHITRAL): Like other parts of the country, Defence Day was celebrated on 6th of September 2022 in Morder to commemorate the services of the martyrs of 1971 war with zeal and fervor.

Mr. Adnan Zain Ul Abidin, manager National Bank of Pakistan, presided over the ceremony whereas SahibUr Rehman, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Kosht, was the chief guest. The area elders, families of the martyrs, retired army personnel, students of different schools, and representatives of local organisations participated in the event.

In his presidential speech, Mr. Adnan Zain Ul Abidin paid tribute to the Shuhaadas and their families and said that among the six Shuhaadas of Morder he himself witnessed the way, how gracefully, respectfully and with national pride, the three martyrs were laid to rest that inspired the youth and infused in them the passion to join the forces of Pakistan.

He expressed his strong support for the armed forces and shared that, it was due to them, that the sanctity of Islam and the sovereignty of Pakistan is strongly intact. He also said that the forces of Pakistan are doing their best to protect the country from any kind of foreign aggression and internal feuds, and the people of Pakistan will always stand with the forces in times of need. However, he expressed his profound displeasure over the excessive use of drugs such as cigarettes, Hashish etc. in youth, and earnestly appealed to the law enforcement agencies and the inhabitants of the area to immediately curb the menace. He reiterated that, it is the provision of quality education to the youth that would equip them with the pen and paper to secure bright future for themselves and arm them to do Jihad against the menace of ignorance, substance abuse, and other ills in the society. In his concluding remarks, he expressed his profound appreciation for the organizers of the event and the performances of the students of Government Higher Secondary School Kosht and Aga Khan School Morder.

The principal GHSS in his speech eulogized the services of Martyrs and talked about the significance of the defense day and advised the youth to work hard and love and serve their homeland.

The honoree captain retired, Mr. Khair Baig of Reshun in his speech paid tribute to the martyrs and shared his personal experience of how the war of 1971 unfolded. He talked about the courage and bravery of the soldiers, particularly, one of his war companions Shaheed Faiz Ul Jan of Morder which made the participants emotional.

Mr. Noor Sabah and Imad Ul Islam, representing the martyrs’ families paid their respect to the martyrs and expressed their gratitude for acknowledging the services of Shuhaadas. 

Besides,many speakers expressed their views and appreciated the services of the martyrs and vowed to stand with the Pak army, and other law enforcing agencies.

The event concluded with the prayers for the upliftment of the Shuhaadas souls followed by the flower wreathing ceremony at the tomb of one of the martyrs of Morder.
