BOONI: A teenage boy fell into the river in Greenlasht village at about 5pm on Friday, local people said.
They said the 16-year-old Shayan Ahmed, son of Shakil Ahmed, a native of Torkhow and living in Peshawar, was going towards Booni when the accident occurred near the new bridge to Oveer valley.
The boy was nephew of Prof Jamil Ahmed Chitrali of Peshawar University, and was in Chitral on holidays.
A search has been launched but so far there is no clue to either the boy or the motorcycle. The river is on high flooding these days.
When contacted on phone, Prof Jamil Ahmed told ChitralToday correspondent that Shayan was the only brother of three sisters and had appeared in class 10th exam.
He said Rescue 1122 had launched a search but postponed it till Saturday morning as night fell.
