GLOF hits Rabat village in Arkari valley

CHITRAL: A glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) in Rabbit village in Arkari valley of Lower Chitral damaged private properties on Wednesday, local people told ChitralToday.

The GLOF washed away the link road to the village besides destroying standing crops and orchards of five families.

Two bridges over the stream were also washed away by the gushing waters.

The residents of the village appealed to the district administration to open the road to the area and help in restoring the damaged water channels from the stream.
