Policeman martyred by terrorists
CHITRAL: A constable of Chitral police was martyred by terrorists in Ursoon area of Lower Chitral on Monday night, said the police.
It said Arbab Uddin was on duty when the terror elements opened fire and martyred him.
It, however, did not give details how the terrorists attacked the police personnel.
Sources said a team of policemen deployed on a check post were on routine when the incident happened.
“The cops tried to stop a vehicle at the check post for checking when the people on board fled by opening fire on them, leaving one policeman killed and three others injured,” sources added.
There were three people in the vehicle, out of which two have been identified during the investigation process and are being searched for while the third one remains unidentified, the sources said.
The injured policemen were been shifted to a nearby hospital and their condition was stable, said the sources.
The funeral of the police jawan was held at Parade Ground in Chitral and the body was later laid to rest at the ancestral village of the martyr in Seen village.
