Chitral Football League ends, Army wins final

DROSH: Pakistan Army won the biggest football event of Pakistan: Chitral Football Leagues by defeating SA Gardens Lahore here.

The event was opened on May 31.

Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Anwarul Haq was chief guest of the final ceremony. Thousands of people watched thrilling and joyful football matches at Col. Murad Stadium Drosh. 

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the event is an endeavor to promote soft image of Chitral. He appreciated Ideal Club Drosh for organizing such a national level sports event. He said the district administration will continue supporting such healthy activities. He congratulated both the finalist teams. DC Chitral announced Rs100,000 for the Ideal Club Drosh. 

Col. Shahzad of Chitral Scouts, addressing the participants, said that today was a historical day for Chitral as teams and players from all over Pakistan came here to participate in the mega event. He said Chitral Scouts will extend full support for sports activities.

Reknown social and political leader Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir also spoke on the occasion. 

Team captain of Pak Army Ansar was declared man of the tournament while Zaidi of SA Garden received the trophy of man of the match. The winner team was given a 70cc motorcycle by TechinLogix, a digital marketing company, while rhe tournament organizers gave Rs100,000 to the winner team and 35,000 to the runner up team. 

Chitral Football League was launched by Ideal Club Drosh in 2021 and this year was its second phase. This year, 19 teams participatef in the event which includes Pakistan Army, Afghan TV, teams from Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit -Baltistan, Punjab, Peshawar, Mardan, Upper and Lower Chitral.
