Rs6 billion allocated for road projects in Chitral
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has allocated Rs6 billion for five mega road infrastructure projects of Chitral in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2022-23.
According to MNA Molana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, these mega projects are: improvement and widening of Chitral-Booni-Mastuj-Shandur road for which Rs2,000 million have been allocated; construction and widening of Ayun to Bumburate road (48km) for which Rs1,000 million have been set aside; Chitral-Garam Chashma road (82.5km) on which Rs1,000 million would be spent and Lowari tunnel access road (third revised) on which Rs2,000 would be spent.
Moreover, the government has also allocated an amount of Rs1,300 million for the construction of Timargara-Dir-Chitral road (N-45) in the fiscal year 2022-23.
The road projects in Chitral were approved years ago but work on the Shandur and Bumburate roads was started in 2921 and early this year, respectively.
