Shelling on military posts from Afghanistan reported
ISLAMABAD: Military posts in Arandu area of Lower Chitral were targeted from Afghan side on April 14, 2022, according to government agencies.
The shelling continued for five to six hours during which 35 artillery rounds were fired from the Afghan territory. However, there were no reports of casualties.
Pakistan armed forces responded the Afghan hostility in befitting manner after which the shelling stopped, said the military.
Pakistan also summoned Afghanistan charge d affaires to lodge protest over the unprovoked artillery shelling from Afghan side.
Pakistan also lodged a protest against the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities inside Pakistan. It was also conveyed that the Afghan government should secure the Pak-Afghan border area and improve border communication.
