CHITRAL: The Soil and Water Conservation Department Chitral held a function to launch a watershed scheme in Lower Chitral on Monday, says a press statement.
Under the scheme, soil conservation practices such as construction of check dams, terracing and plantation will be carried out on 200 acres of land.
The director general soil and water conservation KP, deputy commissioner Lower Chitral and the director agriculture research station and professionals from line departments were present at the function at Shadok in Denin.
The guests on the occasion spoke about the importance and benefits of watershed in the development of the area.
The deputy commissioner appreciated the soil and water conservation team for playing an important role in the development of community.
The district officer soil and water conservation thanked all professionals for their continuous support and cooperation wit.
The director soil and water conservation promised full cooperation and support with the community of Chitral in future as well.
