AYUN: Higher secondary classes have started in second shift at the Govt Girls High School Ayun, locals told ChitralToday.
The decision to launch the intermediate classes had been a longstanding demand of parents whose daughters were facing problems in continuing education after matriculation due the absence of a college in the area.
The residents appreciated the education department for sanctioning the start of the second shift at the school to accommodate the first and second year students.
They also thanked the principal of the school for hiring teachers on merit on time and making other arrangements to ensure launch of the first year classes to save the academic year of the students.
It may be noted that due to the absence of a girls college in the area, students unable to afford taking admission in colleges out of Chitral had to discontinue their education.
A source at the Ayun school told ChitralToday that with the start of the second shift for inter classes, a large number of students had approached the school seeking admission.–Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
