PESHAWAR: The cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man on the charge of blackmailing a woman and extorting money from her.

The FIA on Wednesday said Fazle Hadi, son of Fazle Rehmat, was arrested from Chitral after an FIR was registered against him under section 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 and 384 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

It said both the complainant and the suspect were from Chitral.
The agency said the suspect was involved in sexually harassing and blackmailing the complainant by sharing her objectionable and sexually explicit content through the social media.
He had also extorted a sum of Rs400,000 and a Suzuki swift car from the complainant promising not to share the objectionable content.

After the suspect continued harassing and blackmailing her, the woman approached the FIA and lodged the complaint which led to his arrest.

Why every time a woman is pious?
It needs a proper probe why the suspect have had any type of sexual content of the woman.
This type of situation generally arises when a woman remains in contact with someone and suddenly changes into a white collar and that turns the man to be objectionable.
A proper probe may speak out the reality.

Increased access to different social media platforms has unfortunately resulted in increased crimes against women. The FIA’s attempts at upholding the law and protecting the rights of women must be appreciated.
