Measles, rubbela vaccination drive launched in Upper Chitral

BOONI: A Measles and rubbela vaccination drive was formally launched in Upper Chitral on Saturday.

During the campaign, which will continue till November 27, children up to the age of 15 years will be vaccinated against the two diseases.

For this purpose, vaccination centres have been set up at the District Headquarters Hospital Booni, basic and regional health centres and other units.

The measles and rubbela vaccination drive was launched at a function held at the DHQ hospital in which Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Ali, DHQ hospital medical superintendent Dr Farman Wali, health department officials, teachers and students were present.

Dr Qaiser, coordinator for the program, briefed the participants about preparations for the drive.

Before the launch ceremony, a walk was also held to create awareness about the diseases.–M. Asif
