AYUN: There is an urgent need for starting double shift at the Govt Girls High School Ayun for higher secondary classes.
Notables of Ayun, including former union council nazim Rehmat Elahi, ex-councillor Jandullah Khan, Wajibuddin, Atiqullah, Muhammad Abdullah and others demanded that the education department should start higher secondary classes at the school.
They said there was no higher secondary school in Ayun and nearby areas such as Broz, Gahiret a d the whole Kalash valleys. As a result, 70 percent of girl students fail to continue education after passing the secondary school certificate (SSC) exam.
They saud the govt girls school Ayun meets the criteria for launching higher secondary classes as it serves to over a population of 70,000.
The school is also facing many issues such as lack of classrooms to accommodate the rising number of students, they added.
The notables called upon the education authorities to provide all missing facilities in the girls school and start double shift for intermediate classes.– Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
