Appointment of outsiders as Class IV in Upper Chitral stayed

MINGORA: The appointment of seven outsiders as Class IV in the district attorney office of Upper Chitral was on Tuesday stayed by Peshawar High Court (PHC), Mingora bench.

The stay was issued on a petition filed by a civil society organization, Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Huqooq Chitral.

Taking up the plea, the court issued notice to the government to file its reply in the next date of hearing to be fixed by the court office.

The seven persons from different parts of KP were appointed on the low grade posts of driver, peon, watchman, junior clerk and computer operator by the director general of the KP law and human rights division in September this year.

The petition filed by Saif Ali Mangol and Shahid Ali Yaftali advocates contended that the local people had the first right on the low grade jobs in the new district.

It said the appointments were illegal and be set aside, so that local people could be given the jobs.–Sher Afgan
