Defense Day celebrated in Morder, Garam Chashma

Civilized nations celebrate their fallen heroes to engrave their names on honor bright crest.  It is their extraordinary featsand services that owe huge gratitude, recognition and remembrance.

The 6thof September marks the defence day of Pakistan, which is celebrated every year to commemorate the heroes of 1965 war. Decades ago, on this day, the armed forces thwarted an Indian onslaught in the dead of night and helped push back the enemy in a successful defence that saw the entire nation back its troops.

The youth of Morder, Upper Chitral, commemorated the day today. This year’s defence day holds greater significance for the people of the area, as recently, another brave son of the soil named Ayaz Ali Gohar embraced Shahadat while defending the frontiers of the motherland in Bajaur Agency. The event was organized on the premises of Shaheed Ayat Ali Gohar’s final resting place.

It is worth noting that since 1971 Ayaz (Shaheed) has been the sixth hero from Morder, who has sacrificed his life for the country.

Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Ali was the chief guest while Mr. Adnan Zainul Abidin presided over the ceremony.

Mr. Shah Adnan, Assistant Commissioner Upper Chitral, Essa Muhammad, DSP HQ police Upper Chitral, Shuhaada’s families and notables of the area also participated in the event.

A wreath laying ritual formally commenced the ceremony with the echo of national anthem passionately sung by all the participants. The chief guest and president of the event laid flowers on the tomb of the martyred.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the youth for organizing the event and said the day remembers the sacrifices of the martyrs. He was of the opinion that it was due to their persistent sacrifices and hard work which have enabled the nation to sleep peacefully, since the, Jawans of the Pakistan Army and other forces are continuouslyon guard to protect the frontiers from foreign aggression.

He enumerated the few projects; he had approved to encourage the Shuhaadas of the area and their families; and also noted down other demands put forwarded by the people of the area for possible compliance in future.

Mr. Adnan Zainul Abidin thanked the chief guest and his entourage and said their presence in the ceremony for the encouragement of Shuhaadas of Morder would long be remembered. In addition, he applauded the services of the heroes of the 1965 and all the martyrs, who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Moreover, he congratulated the youth of Morder for arranging such a momentous event. He also appreciated the management of Aga Khan School Morder for their presence and active participation in making the event successful. 

Garam Chashma

The Defence Day was also commemorated in Garam Chashma under the supervision of PTI Lotkoh.

A large number of people belonging to different walks of life participated in the programme.

Mr. Muhammad Amin, retired Subedar Amirullah and Sher Jahan Sahil addressed the gathering. They highlighted the importance of 6th September in the history of the nation when the ugly intentions of the enemy  were crushed for ever.

The speakers paid tributes to the sacrifices of the army and expressed full support to stand along with the forces to protect the sovereignty of the beloved homeland. They also showed paid tributes to martyrs.

At the end, special dua was solicited for the integrity of Pakistan.
