Chitral Scouts’ sacrifices eulogized on Defence Day

CHITRAL: Commandant Chitral Scouts Brig Muhammad Ali Zafar paid tributes to the personnel and officers  of the force for rendering valuable services and sacrifices for the defence of the motherland.

He was speaking at a function held at the Chitral Scouts headquarters on Defence Day on Monday.

Relatives of Scouts and Police martyrs and people from different walks of life were present. The martyrs’ relatives were presented gifts by the Chitral Scouts chief and other guests on the occasion.

Brig Zafar added that people of Chitral have played a key role in the defence of the country from Siachin glacier to all along the eastern abd western borders.

Brig Zafar expressed the hope that the new generation would continue the traditional spirit of sacrifice for the country whenever their was such a need to play their role in making the defence of Pakistan impregnable. 

University of Chitral Vice Chancellor Prof Zahir Shah, Dr Inayatullah Faizi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Hayat Shah and others also spoke.
