Encroachments slowly eating up road

BOONI: The road between Booni and Awi, originally 28 feet wide, has narrowed down to almost half of its width due to encroachments at different points.

The alignment and construction of the road was carried out from Kruijunali to the middle of Awi years back. But till now neither the remaining work has been completed nor the road is being looked after and maintained properly.

As a result, the road is not only damaged but is also being encroached by locals.

The locals have called upon the district administration of Upper Chitral to take notice of the issue and order repair of the road along with removal of the encroachments.–Sher Afgan
