Work to divert river Yarkhun near Reshun begins
RESHUN: At last, work to divert the flow of river Yarkhun near Reshun started on Tuesday to save private land and houses in Shhader locality as well as the Chitral-Mastuj road.
The river has eroded part of the village in the Shhader locality of Reshun, causing millions of rupees losses to the dwellers and was also at the verge of washing away the road last year.
The local people a few days ago had given the government a deadline of two weeks to start work on diverting the river by digging the barren land on the right bank of the river.
Today, the irrigation department started digging in front of the village but the work was too slow.–Sher Afgan
